Winner plays: Winner of 3-Butler (14-2-3)/2-North Allegheny (15-1-2) 5:45 p.m. Saturday in championship at Highmark Stadium, Pittsburgh

Players to watch: Anthony Scalise, Norwin; Colin Lazzara, Fox Chapel

Throw-ins: Norwin pushed its way into the semis by upsetting top seed and nemesis Seneca Valley, 3-2, in the quarters (4-2 penalty kicks). Luke Halberg and Alex Brown scored in regulation before shootout goals by Owen Christopher, Brown, George Bunovich, and Chase Molinaro. Knights coach Scott Schuchert has to sit out the semifinal after receiving two yellow cards in the quarterfinal upset. … Fox Chapel reached the final four with a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Upper St. Clair, its fourth straight win. The Foxes have nine shutouts and have allowed just 12 goals all season. They reached the semifinals last year and lost to Seneca Valley, 3-2. Fox Chapel has five WPIAL titles but the last one came in 1995.
