Throw-ins: The winner qualifies for the PIAA playoffs, and the loser’s season is finished. … Both teams have short weeks to prepare because they both played semifinal games Monday night. … Franklin Regional lost to Hampton, 2-0, and Montour was clipped by upstart South Fayette, 2-1. … Franklin Regional gets coach Lukas Petersen back after he sat out the semifinal with a one-game suspension because of a pair of yellow cards in the previous game. Petersen plans to resign after the season. … Goalie Noah Walker made six saves in the semifinal loss for the Panthers. … Camp and Andrew Prunier are prime scoring threats for Montour. … The teams have been in a combined 19 one-goal games. … Montour upset Franklin Regional in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs last year. … Montour hasn’t made the PIAA playoffs since 2017 when it won a WPIAL title.
