Gold is at stake for 12 district baseball and a dozen district softball teams this week.

The 2025 WPIAL baseball finals are slated for EQT Park with Class 6A, 4A, and 5A on Tuesday and Class A, 2A and 3A on Wednesday in that order.

This year’s District 7 softball championship games are schedule for Lilley Field at PennWest California with Class 4A, 6A and 5A on Wednesday and 3A, 2A and Class A in that order Thursday.

However, those aren’t the only big diamond games going on this week as five WPIAL consolation games for both baseball and softball will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.

These games will either determine the PIAA seeding in that classification if both teams have already earned a state playoff berth, of they will be for the third and final rep from District 7 for the upcoming PIAA postseason.

There are no consolation games in Class 6A since only the WPIAL champion gets a spot in the state baseball and softball playoffs from the highest classification.
