There are only 11 WPIAL girls soccer teams that have yet to lose a match this season, and two of them go head-to-head Monday.
First place in Section 2-4A will be up for grabs when Upper St. Clair visits Peters Township.
Just over a decade ago, these programs won WPIAL Class 3A championships three straight years: Peters Township in 2010 and 2012 and neighboring Upper St. Clair in 2011.
Goals will be hard to come by in this South Hills showdown.
This season, the Panthers have been perfect in every way. USC is 5-0 in the section, 7-0 overall and has yet to give up a goal this season thanks to the play of sophomore goalkeeper Camryn Friday. Junior Madison Webb and sophomore Braidyn Recker also have seen time as keeper for Upper St. Clair.
The Indians are 4-0-1 in the section and 6-0-1 overall and have won five straight games since a scoreless tie with Canon-McMillan. Another young goalkeeper, sophomore Molly Kubistek, has led the way as Peters Township has allowed only one goal in its seven contests.

The top four teams in Section 3-3A are only separated by one game as they prepare to square off in two key matches Monday.
Plum leads the section with a 4-0 record, followed by Penn-Trafford, Franklin Regional and Latrobe at 3-1.
Plum visits Franklin Regional, and Penn-Trafford hosts Latrobe.
Two other key matches in the district Monday include:
• Elizabeth Forward visits Thomas Jefferson for first place in Section 2-3A. The Jaguars are 5-0 in the section, and the Warriors are 4-0.
• Freedom hosts Eden Christian Academy for first place in Section 3-A. The Bulldogs are 3-0 in section play, and the Warriors have a half-game edge at 4-0.

The first step toward winning WPIAL gold will be taken by boys high school golfers Monday in the WPIAL individual golf sectionals.
Each district team can have a maximum of six golfers attempt to qualify for the first round of the WPIAL individual championships Sept. 25 at the Latrobe Country Club for 3A golfers and the Willowbrook Country Club for 2A golfers.
Each section will have a home golf course for one of the schools host the qualifying event Monday.
There are eight sectionals in Class 3A and nine in Class 2A.
WPIAL girls golf individual qualifiers are set for Wednesday.
