WPIAL section matches are in full swing, and the top teams in both Class 3A and Class 2A continue to establish themselves.

The Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association again has recognized those teams with its Week 4 top-10 polls released Monday morning.

North Allegheny (Class 3A) and Shaler (Class 2A) continue to front both rankings.

In Class 3A, Latrobe, which is off to a 6-0 overall start and a 2-0 mark with Penn-Trafford in Section 2, moved up one spot to No. 2.

Pine-Richland moved down one spot to No. 3. The rest of the top 10 sees Seneca Valley at No. 4, Penn-Trafford at No. 5, Butler at No. 6, Mt. Lebanon at No. 7, Hempfield at No. 8, Canon-McMillian at No. 9 and Gateway at No. 10.

Mt. Lebanon, undefeated overall and in Section 1 (2-0) moved up three spots from No. 10 last week.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart enters the Class 2A poll at No. 10.

With Shaler in the top spot, Ambridge, Mars and Seton LaSalle remain Nos. 2-4, respectively. They are followed by Thomas Jefferson, North Catholic, South Fayette, Montour, Hopewell and the Chargers.

Each week throughout the season, all 45 boys volleyball head coaches will have the opportunity to cast a ballot for the top-10 rankings and also nominate players for each classification’s players of the week
