WPIAL boys tennis teams capture section championships

With section play complete, the field is set for the 2019 WPIAL boys team tennis playoffs, starting in early May. There will be a 16-team playoff field in both the Class AAA and AA team tournaments.

Here are the section winners, followed in order by the second, third and fourth place qualifiers from each section.

Class AAA

Section 1 — Franklin Regional, Penn-Trafford, Hempfield, Latrobe

Section 2 — North Allegheny, Sewickley Academy, Moon, Pine-Richland

Section 3 — Fox Chapel, Shady Side Academy, Allderdice, Central Catholic

Section 4 — Peters Township, Mt. Lebanon, Upper St. Clair, Chartiers Valley

Class AA

Section 1 — South Park, Thomas Jefferson, Mt. Pleasant, Greensburg Salem

Section 2 — Quaker Valley, Central Valley, Riverside, Neshannock

Section 3 — Indiana, Valley, Highlands, Knoch

Section 4 — Winchester Thurston, Keystone Oaks, Carlynton, Ringgold
