WPIAL champions Fort Cherry, South Park fall in PIAA semifinals

Aiden Bliss ran for five touchdowns and amassed more than 300 yards as District 9 champion Port Allegany defeated WPIAL champion Fort Cherry, 46-8, in the PIAA Class A football semifinals Friday at Penn West Clarion.

Bliss scored on runs of 13, 1, 7, 44 and 35 yards and surpassed 3,000 rushing yards for the season.

Isaac Postlewait added a 22-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the victory.

Matt Sieg scored on a 10-yard run and added a two-point conversion run in the second quarter for the Rangers.

Port Allegany (14-0) will play District 6 champ Bishop Guilfoyle (14-1) in the PIAA championship game at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cumberland Valley.

Fort Cherry, the 2023 PIAA runner-up, finished its season at 14-1.

Central Clarion 55, South Park 0 — Jase Ferguson ran for seven touchdowns, and Thomas Uckert booted field goals of 39 and 37 yards to lead District 9 champion Central Clarion to a victory over WPIAL champion South Park in the PIAA Class 2A semifinals Friday night at Farrell.

Central Clarion (13-0) will play District 4 champion Troy (15-0) in the PIAA championship game at 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at Cumberland Valley.

The Eagles finished their season 12-2.
