WPIAL Class 5A football roundup: Pitt recruit Julian Dugger guides No. 2 Penn Hills to Northeast title

Julian Dugger threw for 92 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 140 yards and two TDs to lead No. 2 Penn Hills to a 26-21 win over No. 5 Woodland Hills (6-4, 3-2) in the Class 5A Northeast Conference on Friday night.
Penn Hills (8-2, 5-0) clinched the conference title with the win.
Brandon Jones ran for 110 yards and a touchdown for Woodland Hills.
Moon 42, Baldwin 16 — Moon (5-5, 3-2) defeated Baldwin (1-9, 0-5) in Allegheny Six Conference play. The Tigers locked up the No. 2 spot in the Allegheny Six Conference.
Upper St. Clair 34, South Fayette 21 — In Allegheny Six Conference play, Upper St. Clair (8-2, 3-2) beat South Fayette (4-6, 1-4) but fell short of a playoff berth via tiebreaker points.
Norwin 47, Hempfield 21 — Tristyn Tavares threw for 318 yards and six touchdowns and ran for another to lead Norwin (3-7, 2-3) to the Big East Conference win against Hempfield (1-9, 0-5). Luke Denny had nine catches for 219 yards and two scores, and Jackson Pons caught four touchdown passes in the win.
Pine-Richland 43, North Hills 0 — No. 3 Pine-Richland (7-3, 4-1) clinched a playoff spot by beating North Hills (4-6, 2-3) in Northeast Conference play.
Shaler 47, Fox Chapel 13 — In the Northeast Conference, Keegan Smetanka threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns and added two rushing TDs as Shaler (5-5, 1-4) beat Fox Chapel (0-10, 0-5). Nathan Johnson tossed for 111 yards and a touchdown for Fox Chapel.
Central Catholic 51, Gateway 7 — Payton Wehner threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a TD to lead Class 6A No. 1 Central Catholic (9-1) to victory over Class 5A No. 4 Gateway (5-5). Elijah Faulkner added 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings.
Plum 49, Indiana 7 — Nick Odom rushed for 210 yards and a touchdown as Class 5A Plum (4-6) beat Class 4A Indiana (2-8). Sean Franzi threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns for Plum while Trevor Smith threw for 177 yards for Indiana.
Latrobe 42, Butler 7 — John Wetzel ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 48-yard fumble return as Latrobe (7-3) defeated Butler (2-8) in nonconference play.
