WPIAL Class 6A football roundup: Canon-McMillan tops Mt. Lebanon for 3rd place

Mike Evans threw for 198 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 3 Canon-McMillan to a 41-28 victory over No. 4 Mt. Lebanon (5-5, 1-3) in a Class 6A football matchup Friday night.
The victory locked up third place in Class 6A for the Big Macs, who will play No. 2 North Allegheny in the semifinals. Mt. Lebanon will take on No. 1 Central Catholic in the semifinals.
Zachary Welsh added 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns for Canon-McMillan (6-4, 2-2).
North Allegheny 49, Seneca Valley 14 — Logan Kushner and Khiryn Boyd scored two touchdowns each as No. 2 North Allegheny (9-1, 3-1) beat No. 5 Seneca Valley (3-7, 0-4) in Class 6A play.
Central Catholic 51, Gateway 7 — Payton Wehner threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a TD to lead Class 6A No. 1 Central Catholic (9-1) to victory over Class 5A No. 4 Gateway (5-5). Elijah Faulkner added 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Vikings.
Latrobe 42, Butler 7 — John Wetzel ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 48-yard fumble return as Latrobe (7-3) defeated Butler (2-8) in nonconference play.
