WPIAL clinched: Softball playoff qualifiers and scenarios through May 5, 2025

The 2025 WPIAL softball playoff field is nearly set with currently 71 teams having qualified and four possible playoff berths still up for grabs with two days left in the regular season.
The top four teams in each section qualify for the postseason from Class 5A down. In 6A, the top six teams clinch a WPIAL playoff berth.
If there is a tie for the final playoff spot in any section, all of the tied teams advance if they split their head-to-head meetings.

Here is the latest list of teams that have earned district playoff berths through Monday, plus the playoff scenarios for the unclaimed playoff berths.

• Ligonier Valley holds a two-game lead over Yough for fourth place. They will complete a suspended game and play a regulaly scheduled game at Yough on Tuesday. The Cougars have to sweep both to clinch. If not, the Rams are in.

• Monessen (4-6) can clinch a playoff berth with sections wins over Leechburg (6-4) and St. Joseph (0-5) on Wednesday.
