The teams that have clinched are now focused on either conference championships, home field advantage or just a better playoff seeding. But there are many teams heading into the final weekend of the regular season with the goal of just getting their ticket punched for a ride on this years Highway to Heinz. So get your pens, your pads or in the case of some, your carbon paper and find out what needs to happen for your favorite team with the latest WPIAL Football Playoff Picture. Class AA's Interstate Conference has been updated after Washington forfeits were overturned and they are back in the postseason.
CLASS AAAA Foothills Conference:
McKeesport Tigers (7-0) have clinched
(If McKeesport wins at Gateway on Thursday, they will win the conference championship outright.
If they Tigers lose, they will be co-conference champions and finish as the second seed in the conference)

Gateway Gators (6-1) have clinched
(If Gateway beat McKeesport on Thursday, they will be co-conference champions and finish as the first-seed out of the conference.
If the Gators lose, they will finish second if Penn-Trafford loses and they will be third if Penn-Trafford wins)

Hempfield Spartans (5-2) have clinched
(Hempfield will finish third if they beat Penn-Trafford and they will finish fourth if they lose to Penn-Trafford)

Penn-Trafford Warriors (5-2) have clinched
(Penn-Trafford will finish second if they beat Hempfield AND Gateway loses to McKeesport. The Warriors will finish third if they beat Hempfield AND Gateway beats McKeesport.
PT will finish fourth if they lose to Hempfield and Kiski Area loses to Latrobe.

CLASS AAAA Wild Card:
This year’s wild card will come from the Southeastern Conference since Connellsville and Fox Chapel (likely 6th place finishers in Foothills Conference and Northern Eight Conference) cannot match the total wins of whoever finishes in 6th place in the Southeastern Conference.
CLASS AAAA Third Place Home Field:
Two of the three third place teams in Class AAAA will host a First Round playoff game. If Hempfield wins and finishes third in the Foothills Conference, they will get one of the third place home games based on a 7-2 overall record. The other would be decided by tiebreaker points between Bethel Park and the North Allegheny/North Hills winner IF Bethel Park wins. Going into Week 9, North Allegheny is +18, North Hills +17 and Bethel Park +12

If Hampton, Indiana and Knoch win: Indiana is 4th, Hampton is 5th and Hollidaysburg would be 6th with wild card coming down to Hollidaysburg and Amb/Black winner

If Mars, Hollidaysburg and Knoch win: Hollidaysburg is 4th, 5th place would be decided by tiebreaker points between Hampton, Indiana and Greensburg-Salem after Knoch is eliminated in four-way head-to-head. Hampton -4, Indiana -4, Greensburg-Salem -27.
6th place would revert back to head-to-head between Hampton/Indiana, Greensburg-Salem and Knoch with Knoch being eliminated again.
CLASS AAA Wild Card:
Big Nine Conference 6th place finisher Uniontown has no chance via tiebreaker points, so it will come down to the Ambridge/Blackhawk winner in the Parkway Conference and the 6th place finisher in the Greater Allegheny Conference. See above scenerio’s that help figure out the Triple-A wild card.
CLASS AAA Third Place Home Field:
If Mars, Franklin Regional and Highlands all win this week, they will be Tri-Champions and whoever is third after the tiebreaker, they will host a First round playoff game based on their 7-1 conference record. The other home game would go to Ringgold IF they finish 6-2 in the conference based on tiebreaker points with New Castle. Coming into Week 9, Ringgold is +30 and New Castle is +19.
