WPIAL high school football players to watch for Week 2

Here are four players to watch for Week 2 of high school football in Western Pa.

Seth Morgan

Mt. Lebanon, sr., QB

Morgan completed 25 of 40 passes for 333 yards and four touchdowns as Mt. Lebanon won a Class 6A Conference battle 43-29 over Canon-McMillan. The Blue Devils will head to Butler this Friday.

Zack Rocco

North Catholic, jr., QB/DB

In North Catholic’s 41-7 win over Burrell last week, Rocco (6-3, 215) hit on 11 of 14 passes for 297 yards and five scores. He and the Trojans will host Freeport on Friday in a key Class 3A Big East Conference game.

Garrett Reinke

Mars, sr., RB/SS

After rushing for 166 yards in a Week Zero win over West Mifflin, Reinke (5-8, 160) carried 26 times for 216 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 23-13 win over Moon. He and the Fightin’ Planets will play a nonconference game at Greensburg Salem on Friday.

Todd Hill

Steel Valley, sr., RB/LB

Hill (5-10, 221), one of the WPIAL’s top linebackers and a Howard recruit, made an impact on offense in last Friday’s 41-12 victory over East Allegheny. He ran for 206 yards and scored twice , while backfield teammate Kameron Williams ran for 140 yards and three scores. Steel Valley heads to Avonworth this week for a Class 2A Allegheny Conference showdown.
