WPIAL releases sites for football quarterfinal, semifinal games

Norwin will host the WPIAL Class 5A championship game Nov. 23, but two weeks before that a pair of teams hoping to reach that game will meet at Knights Stadium.
No. 1 Gateway and No. 9 Franklin Regional will play their WPIAL Class 5A quarterfinal at Norwin, the WPIAL revealed Monday along with the sites for the other quarterfinal and semifinal games that will take place Friday.
A total of 16 games will take place Friday, with semifinals in classes 6A, 4A, 3A and A and quarterfinals in 5A and 2A. Top-seeded North Allegheny and No. 2 Pine-Richland will host their 6A semifinal games, while the other 14 games will be played at neutral sites.
All games will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

No. 5 Seneca Valley at No. 1 North Allegheny, 7:30 p.m.; No. 3 Mt. Lebanon at No. 2 Pine-Richland, 7:30 p.m.
Class 5A
No. 9 Franklin Regional vs. No. 1 Gateway, 7:30 p.m. at Norwin; No. 13 Woodland Hills vs. No. 5 West Allegheny, 7:30 at North Hills; No. 7 McKeesport vs. No. 2 Penn Hills, 7:30 at Fox Chapel; No. 3 Peters Twp vs. No. 6 Penn-Trafford, 7:30 at West Mifflin
Class 4A
