WPIAL Saturday Scholastic Starz – Week Two

With only one WPIAL game on the Week Two Saturday slate, we decided to hand out a couple of Starz on a not so lazy day by the river in Oakmont for the visitors from Imani Christian. Hey, anytime you drop a Mario Lemieux on a team, you have earned special recognition.

Wan Wesley – Imani Christian

Imani Christian quarterback Tawan Wesley threw early, threw late and threw big. While missing on more than he hit as he connected on 10 of 21 passes, those connections were HUGE with 364 yards passing and six touchdown passes as the Saints went marching through Riverside Park in Oakmont.

Asante Watkins – Imani Christian

Asante Watkins is not a tall players, just a BIG player. He delivered several huge blows on defense, seperating ball or helmet from carries a couple of times, then rushed for 160 yards on the ground including a 75-yard scoring reception and touchdown runs of 5 and 20 yards on the games final play as the Saints beat the host Riverview Raiders 66-6.
