WPIAL sends 3 teams to PIAA tennis semifinals

Either North Allegheny or Mt. Lebanon will play for a PIAA girls tennis championship in Hershey on Saturday.
The top two WPIAL teams in Class AAA will square off in the PIAA semifinals at 10 a.m. Saturday for a chance to compete in the championship against District 1 champ Harriton or District 1 third-place finisher Council Rock North.
WPIAL champion North Allegheny reached the semifinals with a 3-0 win over District 1 runner-up Conestoga.
Mt. Lebanon defeated District 3 champ Manheim Township, 3-2.
In Class AA, WPIAL champion Sewickley Academy reached the PIAA semifinals with a 5-0 win over District 2 champion Scranton Prep.
The Panthers will play District 1 champion Lower Moreland at 1:30 p.m.
The Class AAA final is set for 3:30 p.m., with the Class AA final to follow.
