The Western Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association released its Week 5 boys volleyball polls for Class AAA and AA on Monday morning based on a vote of the 40 WPIAL head coaches.

There are no changes to the top two in Class AAA where No. 1 North Allegheny and No. 2 Penn-Trafford maintained their positions.

Bethel Park and Butler traded places, as the Black Hawks now are No. 3, with the Golden Tornado at No. 4.

Also holding steady are Seneca Valley at No. 5, Hempfield at No. 6, Shaler at No. 7, Norwin at No. 8 and Latrobe at No. 9.

Canon-McMillan enters the poll this week at No. 10. Pine-Richland dropped out of the top 10, but did receive votes.

The top eight teams in Class AA held their spots, with Ambridge at No. 1, Derry at No. 2 and Deer Lakes at No. 3, followed, in order, by Seton La Salle, Montour, Beaver County Christian, Bishop Canevin and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic.

The change comes at the bottom of the top 10 where Trinity vaults into the poll at No. 9, and Keystone Oaks slips one spot to No. 10.

Obama Academy drops out of the top 10.

OLSH receives votes from the coaches for the second week in a row.

The Players of the Week for Class AAA, also voted on by the coaches, are Shaler senior outside hitter John Ramsey and Latrobe junior outside hitter Reed Fenton.

Voted as Class AA Players of the Week are Beaver County Christian senior outside hitter Peter Barbato and Keystone Oaks junior outside hitter Zach Smith.
