Derry baseball tops Southmoreland in chilly nonsection game

Josh Ulery had three hits and two RBIs to help Derry earn a 9-4 victory over Southmoreland in a nonsection baseball game Thursday night at Wild Things Park in Washington.

Ulery also scattered six hits and had 10 strikeouts in six innings to earn the victory.

Anthony Oshie was 3 for 3, and Ryan Polinsky and Aidan Bishey added RBI doubles for the Trojans (2-6), who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Jaden Datz was 2 for 4 for Southmoreland (0-8).

Boys volleyball

Norwin 3, Plum 0 — Jacob Williams had 15 kills to lead Norwin to a Section 3-AAA win, 25-19, 25-18, 25-18.
