Pittsburgh high school roundup: Laskey hits milestone as Laurel Highlands rolls to victory

Bryce Laskey scored a career-high 45 points and reached 1,000 points for his career as Laurel Highlands defeated Elizabeth Forward, 92-65, a nonsection boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Laskey had eight 3-pointers for the Mustangs (2-1).

Zachary Lewis scored 19 to lead Elizabeth Forward (1-2).

Allderdice 61, Central Catholic 49 — Terrell Childs had 17 points, including three 3-pointers, as Allderdice (3-0) won a nonsection game. Maurice Shipman had 21 points and five 3-pointers for the Vikings (0-3).

Carlynton 48, Rochester 42 — Chauncie Mickens scored 21 points as Carlynton (1-2) earned a nonsection win.

Chartiers-Houston 71, South Side Beaver 58 — Cam Hanley scored 25 points and surpassed 1,000 points for his career as Class 2A No. 4 Chartiers-Houston (2-1) won a nonsection game. Andrew Clark had 29 points, including seven 3-pointers, for the Bucs.

Chartiers Valley 61, Baldwin 44 — Sean Banas scored 26 points for Class 5A No. 5 Chartiers Valley (2-1) in a nonsection victory. Jeremy Jenkins had 17 points, including three 3-pointers, for Baldwin (2-1).

Indiana 51, Knoch 38Indiana (2-0) held Knoch (2-1) to single-digit point totals in the first two quarters and led 29-15 at halftime on its way to a nonsection victory. Carlos Carter led the Indians with 22 points and Tommy Arbuckle scored 20. Julian Sanks had 12 points, on four 3-pointers, for Knoch and Jared Schrengost scored 10.

Mars 72, McKeesport 66 — Robby Carmody scored 44 points as Class 5A No. 1 Mars (3-0) earned a nonsection win over Class 5A No. 2 McKeesport (1-2).

Mt. Lebanon 67, North Allegheny 56 — Caden Hinkley had 16 points and Antonio Garofoli added 15 as Mt. Lebanon (3-0) won a nonsection game. Curtis Aiken had 24 points for North Allegheny (0-2).

New Castle 52, Hampton 39 — Marcus Hooker scored 16 points to help New Castle (2-1) earn a nonsection win at Hampton (1-2). Kelcey Lowry added 11 points for the Hurricanes, who led 15-7 after the first quarter. Hampton's Adam Bittner led all scorers with 18 points and Ben Ringheisen scored 10.

Pine-Richland 70, Upper St. Clair 55 — Class 6A No. 1 Pine-Richland (3-0) outscored Upper St. Clair, 15-8, in the fourth quarter to pull away for a nonsection win. Daniel Petcash led the Rams with 27 points, Collin Luellen scored 14, Sebastian Kosanovich had 12 and Kyle Polce scored 11. Matt Kissinger had 11 points for Upper St. Clair (2-1) and Kyle Meinert scored 10.

Quaker Valley 88, Ellwood City 57 — Coletrane Washington scored 23 points and surpassed 1,000 points for his career as Class 4A No. 1 Quaker Valley (2-0) won a nonsection game.

Sto-Rox 63, Avonworth 56 — Brandon Deloe had 20 points as Sto-Rox (1-2) won a nonsection contest.

Jake Harper had 24 points for Avonworth (0-3).

Trinity 59, Bethel Park 53 — Joey Koroly scored a game-high 20 points and connected on a trio of 3-pointers for Trinity (2-1) in a nonsection victory at Bethel Park (1-2). Dylan Kern sank four 3-pointers and had 14 points for the Hillers. Justin Meis paced Bethel Park with 16 points and Jake Nuttridge scored 13.

Uniontown 64, McGuffey 59 — In the Section 3-4A opener, Kam Fitzgerald scored 18 points to guide Uniontown (2-1) to victory.

Waynesburg 80, Charleroi 50 — Darton McIntire had 35 points, including five 3-pointers, as Waynesburg (1-2) rolled to a nonsection win.

West Allegheny 67, South Fayette 46 — Dre Baldwin scored 21 points and Jackson Faulk added 20 to pace West Allegheny (1-2) in a nonsection game.

Girls basketball

Baldwin 50, McKeesport 49 — Abby Larkin scored 10 points as Baldwin (1-2) won a nonsection game.

Jhayla Bray scored 20 for McKeesport (1-2).

Elizabeth Forward 53, Connellsville 37 — Bri Spirnak had 17 points for Elizabeth Forward (2-2) in a nonsection win. The Warriors opened the game on a 24-4 run.

Oakland Catholic 60, Moon 19 — Jayde Boyd and Sierra DeAngelo each scored 13 points to lead Class 5A No. 3 Oakland Catholic (2-1) to a nonsection win.

Sewickley Academy 59, Eden Christian 45 — Sam Smith had 17 points to lift Sewickley Academy (3-0) to a nonsection victory. Haylee Fleischman had 19 points for Eden Christian (0-3), which closed the game on a 20-4 run.

Shaler 63, Plum 26 — Megan Lydon had 15 points as Shaler (2-1) won a nonsection game. MacKenzie Lake scored 10 points for Plum (0-3).

Washington 61, Frazier 46 — Carley Allen had 16 points as Washington (2-1) won a nonsection contest. Brooke Poling scored 27 for Frazier (1-2).
