Can you say Five-Peat? That is what the Tigers of North Allegheny accomplished last fall in winning their fifth straight WPIAL AAA Boys Cross Country Championship. The Tigers finished with 92 points followed by Baldwin with 109 then North Hills with 158 then Plum with 196. In the Class AAA individual competition, North Allegheny's Ryan Gil placed first with a 15:30. Rad Gunzenhauser from Mount Lebanon finished second. One of the biggest surprises of the 2009 WPIAL boys cross-country championships came in Class AA when Evan Miller from Laurel posted a time of 16:33 winning the individual championships. This was a personal best for Miller beating his time by almost one minute. In the team competition, Quaker Valley crushed the competition finishing with 44 points.

The start of the 2010 high school boys cross-country section season is set for Tuesday, September 21st and MSA Sports has all of the upcoming boys district cross-country section schedules online.
