2012 WPIAL Team Wrestling Sectionals RESULTS

With the WPIAL Team Wrestling Playoffs starting next week, the steering committee got a hand Wednesday night with the team sectionals taking place at seven different sites. With the five matches in the books from each site, each section has its five teams now ranked from one to five. The WPIAL will use the results to bracket both the Class AAA and Class AA team playoffs. Here are ALL of the final results with Kiski Area, Connellsville, Hampton, Canon-McMillan, Chartiers-Houston, Jefferson-Morgan and Burrell crowned section champions.

WPIAL CLASS AAA SECTION 1:

Section Championship: Kiski Area Cavaliers 33 – Greensburg-Salem Golden Lions 29  (MSA)

3rd Place Consolation: Latrobe Wildcats 35 – Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings 28  (MSA)

Semifinals:  Kiski Area Cavaliers 44 – Latrobe Wildcats 24  (MSA)

Semifinals:  Greensburg-Salem Golden Lions 34 – Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings 33 via 4-3 in criteria tiebreaker points  (MSA)
