Cameron Guess said he hoped to see an inflow of scholarship offers as he took to the college football showcase camp scene this summer.

He’s off to a strong start: 1 for 1.

Guess, a standout junior punter and kicker at Belle Vernon, pulled in an offer from Kent State after taking part in the Golden Flashes’ camp this weekend.

It is the five-star recruit’s second offer, the other coming from Toledo, another Mid-American Conference program, last September.

Guess is ranked No. 6 in the country as a punter, and No. 38 as a kicker, by Kohl’s Kicking Camps in the Class of 2020. He held the No. 1 punter spot for a time last year.

Guess last season averaged 35.3 yards per punt with a long of 58 yards. He made 56 of 57 extra points, and 45 of his 72 kickoffs were touchbacks.

He averaged 42 yards per punt and made 31 extra points as a sophomore.
