A pair of Central Catholic linemen will be rivals in the Big Ten after junior guard Jon Sassic committed to Penn State on Sunday.

The 6-foot-7, 285-pound offensive lineman chose the Nittany Lions over offers from Pitt, West Virginia, Florida State, Maryland, N.C. State and Virginia Tech, among others.

Rivals and On3 sports reported the commitment.

On Friday, fellow Central Catholic lineman Jimmy Kalis committed to Ohio State.

Another Vikings junior lineman, James Halter, is committed to Notre Dame and was selected to play in the 2027 Navy All-American Bowl.

Their teammate, cornerback Zachary Gleason, committed to the Nittany Lions in March.

Sassic is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports. He was a first-team all-conference selection after helping Central Catholic claim the WPIAL Class 6A title and a PIAA runner-up finish.

He made two visits to Happy Valley this spring. He is the 10th commitment for the Nittany Lions in the Class of 2027. New Jersey defensive back Jonathan Galette committed Saturday.
