A shakeup in the two highest classifications and a rare exit from the Top 5 highlight this week’s edition of the Trib HSSN rankings.

The results of two big WPIAL games in Week 5 led to North Allegheny in Class 6A and Peters Township in 5A being bounced, while the teams that delivered the knockout punches, Central Catholic and Upper St. Clair, vaulted to the Top 5 in their respective classifications.

There was no movement in 4A, 3A and A, but Class 2A also underwent a facelift.

Schuylkill Haven and Cambria Heights entered elite space after Williams Valley (beaten by Schuylkill Haven) and Southern Columbia were knocked out.

This marks the first ranking in years without the Tigers of Southern Columbia.

While Bishop McDevitt takes over the top spot in 5A, the rest of the top-ranked teams remain the same with St. Joe’s Prep in 6A, Monsignor Bonner-Archbishop Prendergast in 4A, Northwestern Lehigh in 3A, Troy in 2A and Bishop Guilfoyle in A remaining at No. 1.

There is a huge battle this week between District 12 powers in Class 6A as No. 1 St. Joe’s Prep visits No. 2 LaSalle College.

Here are the latest Trib HSSN rankings. Teams are listed with overall record, last week’s ranking and district.
