High school roundup: Penn Hills takes down Shaler

Hollis Mathis connected with Daequan Hardy for four touchdowns to lead Class 6A No. 5 Penn Hills to a 34-6 win over Shaler (0-5, 0-3) in a Class 6A Northern Seven Conference game.
Hardy reached the end zone two times in the first quarter on 33-yard and 35-yard passes from Mathis, who was 19 of 27 for 309 yards, with five touchdowns and no interceptions, to put the Indians up 14-0.
In the third quarter, Hardy, who finished with 127 yards on five catches, had his longest touchdown from 49 yards for the Indians (4-1, 2-1) to extend their lead to 28-0.
Beaver 44, Keystone Oaks 12 — In nonconference play, Brodie List threw three touchdown passes — to Tyler Wallace, Zach Hansen and Amen Cottrill, and Nik Rowse and Cottrill each returned interceptions for touchdowns as Beaver (3-2) earned a victory and gave Keystone Oaks (4-1) its first loss.
Western Beaver 30, Union 6 — Louie Hapach rushed for 104 yards on 10 carries, including a 14-yard touchdown run in the first quarter to kick off the scoring for Western Beaver (4-1, 3-1) in a win over Class A No. 4 Union (4-1, 2-1) in Big Seven action.
Jeddy Young had a pair of touchdowns, one in the air and one on the ground, for Western Beaver. Young connected with Noah Gray on a 5-yard pass and ran one in from 26 yards out to extend the Western Beaver lead to 23-0 in the second quarter. Raven Chandler led all rushers with 116 yards on 17 carries for the Golden Beavers.
