Franklin Regional’s Lauer commits to Towson

Record-breaking Franklin Regional linebacker Bryce Lauer made a signing day eve commitment, giving Towson (Md.) the nod Tuesday night.
Lauer also had offers from Duquesne and Mercyhurst but decided on Towson when it came in with a late offer.
Robert Morris and St. Francis (Pa.) also showed interest.
The senior also had preferred walk-on opportunities with Pitt and Penn State.
Lauer (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) set program records for career (368) and single season (161) tackles. He made 254 solo stops in his career.
Towson, a Division I FCS program, competes in the Colonial Athletic Association.
Lauer will sign Wednesday afternoon.
