Aliquippa linebacker Daiveon Taylor committed to Kent State on Monday, completing a recruiting journey that saw him first pick West Virginia.
Taylor announced his decision on social media.
A 6-foot-2, 220-pound junior, Taylor was rated by Rivals.com as a three-star prospect. The recruiting website ranked him 29th overall among all Pennsylvania juniors.
Taylor committed to West Virginia last spring but reopened his recruitment after coach Neal Brown was fired by the Mountaineers. Taylor announced receiving a Kent State offer in late February and visited the campus this past weekend, according to his social media account on X.
He also listed offers in recent months from Buffalo, New Mexico and Sacramento State.
A standout pass rusher as an outside linebacker or a defensive lineman, Taylor had 50 tackles, seven sacks and one forced fumble in eight games for Aliquippa last fall. He sat out the playoffs under PIAA rules after transferring from Bishop Canevin.
Taylor was voted first-team all-conference at outside linebacker by Parkway Conference coaches.
