Appalachian State plays in the Division I FBS Sun Belt Conference.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound running back is an Indiana (Pa.) native who also played running back and on special teams. He helped Kiski School finish 7-2 last season and was named Team MVP.
“We built upon what we accomplished last season,” Porter told TribLive. “We instilled more character and a team environment. We really looked out for each other.”
He was ranked among the top 100 players in the state by Prep RedZone. His other Division I offers included Akron, Air Force, Army, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Colgate, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Lafayette, Old Dominion and Toledo.
Kiski School, located in Saltsburg, plays football as an independent outside of the WPIAL and PIAA landscape.
