Brownsville upset top-seeded and two-time defending champion Riverside, 6-5, in the semifinals to make its first title game appearance since 1999. The Falcons beat Valley, 6-5, in the quarterfinals. … The Falcons fell 7-5 against Waynesburg in the '99 final. … Avonworth cruised to a 13-2 win in six innings over South Side Beaver in the semifinals and beat Shady Side Academy, 8-6, in the quarterfinals. … Grau has been the Antelopes' top hitter and pitcher all season. He is part of a young lineup that starts only three seniors. He is 5-1 with 56 strikeouts in 38 ¹⁄₃ innings pitched and has a .431 batting average. Felter and Jalliet had three hits apiece in the semifinal win. Felter homered and Jalliet doubled twice. … Dellarose has a .429 batting average and Bagwell is hitting .373. Brosky has 1.32 ERA with 78 strikeouts to seven walks in 47 ²⁄₃ innings pitched. He also has hit both of the team's home runs. Dellarose, Bagwell and Zimcosky had two hits apiece in the South Side Beaver win.
