MSA Sports Plays of the Week – Week Three
September 17, 2013
#1 Sto-Rox 34, Neshannock 31In a rematch of, arguably, 2012’s best game, Sto-Rox (3-0) and Neshannock (2-1) played another thriller for the ages. There were, however, two major differences this time around: the game was on a Thursday night and Sto-Rox came up with a much-needed defensive stand late in the game. Down 34-31 with under 10 seconds to play, the Lancers’ Giani Olivia would take a pitch from the 2 yard line. Sto-Rox’s defense would hold though, stopping Olivia on 4th and goal with 4 seconds left, giving Sto-Rox a gigantic win in Class A’s Big Seven Conference. Last season, Neshannock scored a late touchdown, rallying from down 21 points at halftime and stunning Sto-Rox 35-34.

Throw in 13 pick-six returns and 5 fumbles returned for scores and it was an exciting week for non-offensive players.
