Justin Flack scored four touchdowns, Derry’s defense shut down the potent North Catholic offense and the Trojans earned an impressive — and, perhaps — shocking 27-0 victory.

■ PENN HILLS 64, KISKI AREA 28
Although Kiski Area did its best to match Penn Hills’ wealth of playmakers, the Indians showcased why those players make them one of the top contenders for the WPIAL Class 5A championship.

■ ALIQUIPPA 39, BEAVER FALLS 0
Quips senior Avante McKenzie rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-0 victory over rival Beaver Falls that lasted more than three hours and twice was delayed by lightning.

■ NORTH ALLEGHENY 34, MT. LEBANON 3
North Allegheny junior running back Percise Colon scored a pair of second-half touchdowns to go along with a first-half score as the second-ranked Tigers rolled over fifth-ranked Mt. Lebanon.

■ WEST ALLEGHENY 29, UPPER ST. CLAIR 12
Defensively, the Indians held Upper St. Clair in check until Jason Sweeney threw touchdown passes to Brandon Shearer (10 yards) and Chris Pantelis (13 yards) in the fourth quarter.

■ MOON 26, CHARTIERS VALLEY 0
Moon’s defense forced two turnovers, accrued five sacks and held the Colts to just 65 total yards of offense in route to the victory.

■ CENTRAL CATHOLIC 7, BETHEL PARK 6
One touchdown was all Pittsburgh Central Catholic needed in a wet and wild game against Bethel Park.

■ ELIZABETH FORWARD 7, QUAKER VALLEY 6
The game was called after two quarters due to heavy rain and lightning that hit the area on Friday. Elizabeth Forward remained unbeaten at 4-0, while Quaker Valley fell to 1-3.

■ PETERS TOWNSHIP 35, NORTH HILLS 7
Junior running back Ryan Magiske ran for 110 yards on 20 carries and 3 touchdowns as Peters Township defeated North Hills, 35-7, at Martorelli Stadium.

■ MARS 42, ARMSTRONG 15
Mars senior quarterback Tyler Kowalkowski completed 9 of 13 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

■ CANON-McMILLAN 20, HEMPFIELD 14
Having scored a total of 59 points last year, the Big Macs (1-3, 1-3 Class 6A) nearly reached half that total with they put up 20 points before halftime with a balanced attack, and they held on for a 20-14 win over Hempfield (1-4, 0-4).

■ PINE-RICHLAND 44, NORWIN 7
The No. 1-ranked Rams built a 44-point halftime lead and won 44-7.

■ GREENSBURG SALEM 48, LAUREL HIGHLANDS 12
How’s this for physical? Greensburg Salem rushed for seven first downs in the second quarter, 20 for the game.

■ YOUGH 35, BURRELL 6
WPIAL rushing leader Dustin Shoaf ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, but quarterback Jake Sever threw two touchdown passes.

■ DEER LAKES 42, MT. PLEASANT 14
Both teams started sluggishly, but a muffed punt by Mt. Pleasant late in the first quarter set up Deer Lakes deep in Vikings territory and led to the first touchdown of the night.

■ IMANI CHRISTIAN 36, GREENSBURG CENTRAL CATHOLIC 21
Israel Reed threw two touchdown passes to Rahmon Hart, including a go-ahead 34-yarder with 2 minutes, 52 seconds left, as Imani Christian rallied with 16 unanswered points late.

■ JEANNETTE 58, SPRINGDALE 0
Jeannette handled business in a manner befitting the defending state-champion.

The Golden Rams (1-4, 1-2) forced six turnovers and held Beaver (4-2, 2-2) to six second-half points.

Avonworth q uarterback Derek Johncour completed 15 of 22 passes for 186 yards and two scores, and Jax Miller added 121 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 17 carries as Avonworth improved to 4-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

■ FREEPORT 55, UNIONTOWN 16
The Yellowjackets scored 22 points in the first 4 minutes, 39 seconds of play Friday night and cruised to a 55-16 victory over Uniontown at Bill Power Stadium.

■ LEECHBURG 41, RIVERVIEW 12
Behind a power running game and a stifling defense, the Leechburg Blue Devils defeated the Riverview Raiders.

■ STEEL VALLEY 42, VALLEY 0
Steel Valley’s Kameron Williams did plenty of damage in three quarters, rushing for 112 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Class AA No. 4-ranked Ironmen past Valley.
