The Fox Chapel hockey team is 2-3-1 in the PIHL A Division. It has scored 28 goals and allowed 30.

Coach Jason Silver feels there is room for optimism.

“It's been a struggle the last few seasons,” he said. “This is a team that has been through a lot. Losing a good amount of top players two seasons ago has put us in a rebuild mode. The locker room has a good atmosphere, though. It's always been there even despite the lack of success last year. If these guys stick to the system and continue to trust one another, this is a playoff team that could make some noise given the opportunity to play in the postseason.”

Returning starters for the Foxes are senior forwards Shane and Seth Krhofsky, senior defenders Sam Stites and Willie Doyle and sophomore goalie Tyler Radigan. Shane leads the team in scoring with eight goals and seven assists, and Seth is second with three goals and six assists. Senior forward Chase Villani is next with five goals and three assists. Doyle has three goals and three assists, sophomore forward Colby Zmenkowski has a pair of goals and four assists, Stites has a goal and four assists and junior forward Michael Kilmer has four goals.

“The strengths of this team are the speed up front along with their scoring touch,” Silver said. “I'm concerned that the team hasn't done well just simplifying their game. We've gotten off to a erratic start. When the team plays the system being asked of them, which is moving the puck and working down low below the dots, we have success and wear teams out. When we try to hold onto the puck and do too much individually, we break down.”
