Franklin Regional’s standout shortstop and top entrepreneur is heading to the Ivy League.
Senior Jake Williams will further his playing career at Yale, the Panthers’ baseball team announced Tuesday via Twitter.
Williams, who helped create the nonprofit business, mySportResume.com, an online athletic and academic portfolio for aspiring college student-athletes, used the platform to reach out to college programs around the country.
Williams is hitting .411 with 19 runs and 10 RBIs for Franklin Regional, the No. 2 team in WPIAL Class 5A. The Panthers (14-1) just clinched the Section 1-5A title.
Congratulations to F.R. shortstop Jake Williams, on his commitment to continue his academic and baseball career at Yale University @YaleBaseball! Best of luck and looking forward to seeing you become a great student-athlete as a Yale Bulldog! pic.twitter.com/MmfyvMKspQ
