Hampton hosting summer basketball program

The Hampton basketball summer camps directed by varsity coach Joe Lafko, with help from staff, will begin June 25, and carry through July 11. All three programs will be held at Hampton High School in Allison Park.
The boys and girls shooting camp is scheduled with two options: June 25-27 or July 1-3 at a cost of $45 per session. This camp is for players entering grades six to 10. The June sessions will run from 1 to 3:30 p.m., and the July sessions from 9 to 11 a.m. This camp will focus on shooting form, techniques and feature awards and competitions.
A skills improvement camp for boys entering grades four to nine will be conducted from 9 a.m. to noon June 24-28. The cost is $80. Players will be split into two age groups and learn the motion offense that has made the Hampton basketball program one of the best in the state. Live play and instruction, competition, awards and a camp t-shirt will also be included.
An introduction camp will be held for boys and girls on July 8-11 at a cost of $55. This camp is for players going into grades one to three and runs from 9-11 a.m. The camp will use 8-foot hoops and place an emphasis on teaching proper fundamentals. Games, competition and a camp t-shirt are also included.
The staff is also offering “Summer Slam 3-on-3,” a league for boys entering grades three to 11. The league will operate Monday through Thursday, starting the week of June 17, and concluding the week of July 15.
