Heritage Conference announces winter all-conference teams

Members of the Ligonier Valley boys basketball team and senior wrestler Robby Patrick headlined the Heritage Conference winter all-conference teams, which were released Tuesday.

Patrick, a three-time PIAA Class AA runner-up and four-time District 6 and PIAA Southwest Regional champion, along with teammate Alex Caldwell were named to the all-conference wrestling team.

Patrick was the Tribune-Review Wrestler of the Year and is a Virginia recruit.

Also named were Blairsville's Jack Bruce and Garrett Henigin, Marion Center's Carmen Gett and Charlie Beatty, and United's Riley Miller.

The Rams basketball team claimed the District 6 Class 3A title and was led by all-conference players Marrek Paola and Michael Marinchak. Paola, a junior, averaged 23 points and Marinchak, a sophomore, averaged 19.

Also selected were Saltsburg's Jake Roman, Blairsville's Matt Jackson, Penns Manor's Zac Horwat, Northern Cambria's Xavier Jackson, Purchase Line's Melvin Sanchez, Homer-Center's Tanner Yancy, Marion Center's Paul McClure and West Shamokin's Drew Orlosky.

Blairsville, the conference champion and the District 6 Class 2A runner-up, had Catherine Martin and Rena Enterline named to the girls basketball all-conference team. Ligonier Valley's Lexie Petrof was also named, along with Saltsburg's Jenna Beitel, Penns Manor's Autumn Farrell, Purchase Line's Megan Faught, Northern Cambria's Ashlee Parish, Homer-Center's Emily Worcester, Marion Center's Jackie Fetsko, United's Maizee Fry and West Shamokin's Olivia Fusaro.

Named to the all-conference cheerleading squad were Ligonier Valley's Chelsea Vargulish-Graver, Saltsburg's Emily Woodring, Purchase Line's Lilly Taylor, Penns Manor's Yanessa Shabbick, Northern Cambria's Bethany Bamosky, Purchase Line's Brittany Jennings, Blairsville's Alyssa Constantino, Marion Center's Desirea Henry and United's Kallista Regan and Regan Tomalson.
