Anthony Mimna scored the lone goal of the game to lead West Allegheny to a 1-0 victory over Montour (8-6, 6-3) in a matchup of potential playoff teams in Section 4-3A boys soccer Thursday night. Chris Pons set up the winning goal for West A (7-5, 6-3).

Avonworth 3, Hopewell 2 – Noah Quinn, Rowan Carmichael and Owen Dugan scored to lead Avonworth (11-2-2, 11-1-1) past Hopewell (5-6, 5-6) in Section 2-2A.

Beaver County Chrsitian 2, Freedom 0 – Robert McMahan and Zach Stephens scored goals, with Eli Bosch and Sam McMahan picking up assists, to help Beaver County Christian (10-3, 6-2) past Freedom (5-5-1, 4-3-1) in Section 1-A.

Bentworth 12, California 0 – Ryan Moessner scored four goals and Andrew Vipperman and Aiden McMurray added two goals apiece for Bentworth (13-0, 7-0) in a Section 2-A win over California (1-6, 1-5). Austin Hollier, Caden Hackinson, DJ Hays and Cameron Rice also scored for the Bearcats.

Beth-Center 4, Chartiers-Houston 0 – Nekoda Bundy scored two goals and Parker Amos and Jordan Lowman added a goal apiece for Beth-Center (9-2-1, 4-2) in a Section 2-A win over Chartiers-Houston (1-13, 1-6).

Bethel Park 6, Albert Gallitin 0 – Xavier Jackson and Youssef Benrabia had two goals each and Jason Koerbel and Evan Chichwak also scored for Bethel Park (9-3, 9-2) in a Section 2-3A win over Albert Gallatin (1-10, 1-9).

Canon-McMillan 1, Mt. Lebanon 0 – Adam Kuchera scored the winning goal and Logan Joseph recorded the shutout to lead Canon-McMillan (8-4-1, 4-4) past Mt. Lebanon (7-7, 3-5) in Section 2-4A.

Charleroi 7, Brownsville 1 – Dylan Klinger had a hat trick, Landon Barcus added a pair of goals and Ethan Hartley and Blake Pendo also scored for Charleroi (12-0, 11-0) in a Section 4-2A win over Brownsville (2-10-1, 2-8-1).

Chartiers Valley 5, Ambridge 0 – John Krug recorded a hat trick, his second in two games, while Xavier Mwaura and Jonah Mastern-Williams each tallied a goal for Chartiers Valley (8-5, 7-2) in a Section 4-3A win over Ambridge (3-7, 3-7). Evan Cyprowski made nine saves for the shutout for the Colts.

Deer Lakes 2, Burrell 1 – Cuyler Crim and Zane Spence scored to lead Deer Lakes (12-2-1, 10-1) to a Section 1-2A win. Collin Rodgers and Waylon Schiller dished out assists for the Lancers. Billy Kowalkowski scored for Burrell (6-8, 6-5).

Franklin Regional 5, West Mifflin 0 – Danny Christafano scored a pair of goals while Cruise Lamanna, Joey Bayne and Tyler Pipon each tacked on a goal as Franklin Regional (8-2-1, 7-1) blanked West Mifflin (2-8, 2-7) in Section 3-3A.

Highlands 7, Leechburg 1 – Ryan Maloney scored a hat trick and Brady Celko added a pair of goals to lead Highlands (5-6-1, 4-6-1) past Leechburg (1-13, 1-0) in Section 1-2A. Latrobe 3, Penn-Trafford 1 — Latrobe clinched at least a share of its first section championship as Roman Agostoni, Warren Agostoni and Jake Limani scored goals for the Wildcats (10-4, 9-0) in a Section 3-3A win. Noah Haslam scored for Penn-Trafford (7-5-1, 4-4).

Mars 2, Obama Academy 1 – Sean Scanlon and Logan Coone scored a goal apiece to lead Mars (10-1-3) past Obama Academy (4-8) in a nonsection win.

Mt. Pleasant 13, Greensburg Salem 0 – Lukas Showman recorded a hat trick while Aydan Gross and Aidan Johnson each scored two goals to lead Mt. Central Catholic 6, Bethel Park 1 – Judah Brophy and Chris Sargo each scored a pair of goals to boost Central Catholic (1-0) to a Class 3A win. Santino Strobel and Cain Phillip each added a goal for the Vikings. Vincent Klingensmith scored for Bethel Park (0-1).

Chartiers Valley 6, McDowell 0 – Richie Francis scored two goals to lead Chartiers Valley (2-0) to a Class A win over McDowell (0-2). Austin Tornabene, Vinny Vennero, Darien Storsnider and Brady Nairn each added a goal while Matt Colberg had the shutout for the Colts.

Elizabeth Forward 5, Gateway 4 (OT) – Bobby Boord Jr. scored a first-period goal, then put in the game-tying goal in the third and game-winner in overtime as Elizabeth Forward (1-1) bested Gateway (0-0-1) in a Division 2 matchup. Riley Wright and Cam Thompson also scored for the Warriors. Canyon Hines scored a pair of goals and Chance Wilson and Gavin Grant tallied a goal apiece for the Gators.

Mars 5, Indiana 1 – Ethan Vactor had a goal and an assist and Max Zagorski dished out three assists to lead Mars (2-0) to a Class A win. Matt Stone scored for Indiana (1-1).

Morgantown 11, Central Valley 0 – Jacob Hollander had three goals and an assist, Geno Valenti collected two goals and an assist and Dom Petrucci also scored twice for Morgantown (1-0) in a Division 2 win over Central Valley (0-1).

Pine-Richland 3, Peters Township 1 – Josh Lanyard had a goal and an assist and AJ Verszyla and Roger Williams also scored for Pine-Richland (1-0) in a Class 3A win. John Ripepi scored for Peters Township (0-1).

Seneca Valley 4, Upper St. Clair 3 (OT) – Marshall Hewitt scored two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lift Seneca Valley (1-0) past Upper St. Clair (0-0-1) in Class 3A. Andrew Malichky also scored a pair of goals for the Raiders. Ryan Buonomo scored two goals and Ian Tobin added another for the Panthers.

Shaler 8, Beaver 1 – Dylan Marsden and Jacob Skerlong scored two goals apiece and Matthew Stelitano added a goal and two assists for Shaler (1-0) in a Class A win. Trevor Schmidt scored for Beaver (0-1).

Girls volleyball

Beaver 3, Lincoln Park 0 – Jaedyn Brown had seven kills, six digs and four aces and Kailyn Connelly and Lanie Malobabich each added six kills to lead Beaver (10-3, 6-0) to a Section 4-3A win over Lincoln Park (2-11, 2-4). Miley Hapach served five aces, Aubrey Bumblis had 14 digs and Zoe Ringer dished out 21 assists for the Bobcats.

Bentworth 3, Washington 2 – Olivia Telegraphis had 10 kills, Chelsea Dindal recorded 10 kills and 10 digs and Zoie McDonald shelled out 25 assists as Bentworth (6-7, 5-5) beat Washington (1-9, 1-9) in Section 3-2A.

Canon McMillan 3, Mt. Lebanon 0 – Natalie Carr had 13 kills, Cali Dagen followed with seven kills and Abby Tucker and Lilly Thornberry added four kills apiece for Canon McMillan (11-1, 6-0) in a Section 1-4A win over Mt. Lebanon (5-5, 2-4).

Hempfield 3, Norwin 2 – Sadie Kuhns had 20 kills, Claire Mitchell followed with 14 kills, Jillian Sowers produced 31 digs and Shelby Waryanka had 27 digs as Hempfield (7-4, 5-1) beat Norwin (2-10, 1-5) in Section 3-4A. Preslee Horchak dealt out 47 assists for the Spartans.

Laurel Highlands 3, Belle Vernon 0 – Jayna Fabrey had 15 digs, Lucy Baker added 10 digs and Sara Reed dished out 24 assists as Laurel Highlands (9-4, 6-2) defeated Belle Vernon (4-10, 2-7) in Section 3-3A.

Ligonier Valley 3, Neighborhood Academy 0 – Marlee Miller had nine kills, 11 service points and four aces and Rylee Monticue also had nine kills to lead Ligonier Valley (7-5, 3-2) to a Section 5-2A win over Neighborhood Academy (6-5, 0-5). Morgan Smith had eight service points, Kya Hegan dished out 12 assists and Lacy Sosko contributed five kills for the Rams.
