Zane Spence and Peyton Kushon scored to lead Deer Lakes to a 2-1 victory over Shady Side Academy in a matchup of top teams in Section 2-2A boys soccer Tuesday night. Artemey Parshyn and Ethan Alberta had assists for the Lancers (4-0, 3-0). Amir Awais scored for the Bulldogs (2-1, 2-1).

Avonworth 6, Mohawk 1 – Nathan Kline scored a pair of goals to lead Avonworth (3-1-1, 2-1) past Mohawk (1-3, 1-2) in Section 4-2A.

Beaver 2, Hopewell 1 – Evan Baker scored the winning goal with 24 seconds left to lead Beaver (2-1, 2-1) over Hopwell (2-1, 1-1) in Section 4-2A. Jacob Harris assisted on the winning goal and Kyle Carlsen also scored for the Bobcats.

Belle Vernon 4, Waynesburg 0 – Brandon Yeschenko had two goals and Tyler Bell and Trevor Kovatch also scored to help Belle Vernon (4-1, 3-0) beat Waynesburg (2-3, 1-2) in Section 3-2A.

Bethel Park 2, Laurel Highlands 1 – Xavier Jackson and Youssef Benrabia each scored to lift Bethel Park (3-1, 3-0) past Laurel Highlands (2-3, 0-3) in Section 3-3A.

Burrell 10, St. Joseph 2 – Jayson Ireland scored a hat trick, Vincent Guerrini and Billy Kowalkowski each had two goals and Calio Zanella and Riley Armstrong also scored for Burrell (2-1, 2-1) in a Section 3-A win over St. Joseph (0-3, 0-2).

Carlynton 5, Chartiers-Houston 0 – Austin Naman scored twice and Ryan Lewis, Mateo Carrasco and Wilson Choate each added a goal as Carlynton (3-1, 1-0) blanked Chartiers-Houston (0-5, 0-1) in Section 4-A. Dylan Sunderland kept the net clean for the Cougars.

Charleroi 3, Beth-Center 0 – Bryce Large, Dylan Klinger and Joel Chambers all scored as Charleroi (5-0, 2-0) shut out Beth-Center (2-3, 0-2) in Section 2-1A.

Chartiers Valley 4, Blackhawk 1 – Angad Kohil recorded a hat trick and Luca Lunardi also scored as Chartiers Valley (2-3, 2-1) scored four times in the second half to beat Blackhawk (0-4, 0-3) in Section 2-3A.

East Allegheny 7, Steel Valley 0 – Joe Connors had a hat trick and Ryan Rupert added a goal and two assists to lead East Allegheny (4-0, 3-0) to a Section 1-2A win over Steel Valley (1-4, 0-3). Josh Nellis and Ian Munn also scored and Dustin Harrier recorded the shutout.

Franklin Regional 1, Penn-Trafford 0 – Tyler Pipon scored the game’s lone goal as Franklin Regional (3-2, 2-1) defeated Penn-Trafford (0-4-1, 0-2-1) in Section 4-3A.

Greensburg Salem 5, Derry 2 – Drezdan Geselman had a hat trick and Adam Wilson and Tommy Shrum also scored for Greensburg Salem (3-1, 2-1) in a Section 2-2A win over Derry (1-4, 1-2).

Hampton 8, Kiski Area 1 – Luke Fiscus had a hat trick to lead Hampton (3-0-1, 2-0-1) past Kiski Area (1-1, 1-1) in Section 1-3A.

Keystone Oaks 1, Elizabeth Forward 0 – Cy Garcia scored the decisive goal and Caleb Wolfe recorded the shutout for Keystone Oaks (2-2, 2-1) in a Section 1-2A win over Elizabeth Forward (1-2, 1-2).

Knoch 4, Jeannette 2 – Austin Friedline scored two goals and had an assist while Mason Nebel and Will Parisi each netted a goal to lead Knoch (2-3, 2-1) past Jeannette (1-2, 1-2) in Section 2-2A. Jordan Taylor scored both goals for the Jayhawks.

Montour 2, West Allegheny 0 – Andrew Prunier scored both Montour (3-0, 3-0) goals in a Section 2-3A win over West Allegheny (1-5, 1-3).

Moon 2, Central Valley 1 – Mike Walenchok scored both Moon goals on assists from Luiz Silva and Fin Dengel as the Tigers (4-1, 3-0) defeated Central Valley (0-3, 0-3) in a Section 2-3A tilt.

Mt. Pleasant 9, Brownsville 0 – Luke Domasky, Aydan Gross and Austin Ulery each scored two goals apiece while Ryan Karfelt, Luke Rivaldo and Bryce Heinbagh all added a goal as Mt. Pleasant (3-0, 3-0) drubbed Brownsville (0-5, 0-3) in Section 3-2A. Jacob McGuinness earned the shutout for the Vikings.

North Catholic 3, Mars 0 – Dylan Scheel scored two goals and Ryan Schantz added another for North Catholic (1-3, 1-1) in a Section 1-3A shutout against Mars (2-2-1, 1-1-1).

Norwin 1, Canon-McMillan 0 – Daniel Maddock scored the game’s only goal to send Norwin (4-1, 3-0) past Canon-McMillan (1-2-1, 1-1-1) in Section 2-4A.

Peters Township 8, Baldwin 1 – Jeven Kelly scored a hat trick, Alex Parise buried two goals and Blake Gabelhart, Logan Peters and Nathan Froelich each added a goal as Peters Township (3-1, 2-1) cruised to a Section 2-4A win over Baldwin (1-4, 0-3).

Quaker Valley 9, Riverside 0 – Jack Karwoski had a hat trick with an assist and Cameron Diggins added two goals and an assist to lead Quaker Valley (3-2, 3-0) past Riverside (0-3, 0-2) in Section 4-2A. Nick Allan had a goal and an assist and Carter Turk, Colin Benge and Charlie Pyle also scored.

Ringgold 12, Uniontown 0 – Nick Evans and Nico Bove each scored a hat trick, Lucas Wukovich and Owen Haywood had two goals apiece and Juraj Stasko and Aidan Weaver each netted a goal as Ringgold (4-0, 3-0) put it on Uniontown (2-3, 1-2) in Section 3-3A.

Serra Catholic 4, Brentwood 1 – AJ Mejalli recorded a hat trick and Collin Holmes also scored as Serra Catholic (2-1, 1-0) beat Brentwood (0-2, 0-1) in Section 4-A. Caden Taylor and Jaxson Poziviak had assists.

Seton LaSalle 3, Bishop Canevin 1 – Jack Billick scored twice to lead Seton LaSalle (1-0-1, 1-0) in a Section 4-1A win over Bishop Canevin (1-2, 0-1). Darius Norkevicus socred his first goal for the Rebels.

South Park 3, Woodland Hills 1 – Ryan Wesolowski scored a pair of goals to power South Park (5-0, 3-0) past Woodland Hills (2-2, 2-1) in Section 1-2A.

Springdale 3, Aquinas Academy 1 – Billy Lawrence, Pat Wylly and Alex Wylly had a goal each to lead Springdale (3-0, 3-0) past Aquinas Academy (1-2, 0-2) in Section 3-A.

Thomas Jefferson 2, Connellsville 1 – Brayden Miller and Ray Schrello scored to lift Thomas Jefferson (4-1, 2-1) past Connellsville (1-4, 0-3) in Section 3-3A.

Upper St. Clair 2, Mt. Lebanon 1 – Ben Murtough and Jan Sames each scored a goal for Upper St. Clair (5-0, 3-0) in a narrow Section 2-4A win over Mt. Lebanon (1-3-1, 1-1-1).

Yough 3, Southmoreland 0 – Collin Barner, Isaac Pacacha and Jacob Booher each tallied a goal for Yough (2-2-1, 1-2) in a Section 3-2A shutout of rival Southmoreland (1-4, 0-3).

Girls soccer

Mohawk 13, West Middlesex 1 – Audrey Whippo and Audrina Cox each recorded hat tricks as Mohawk (1-1) rolled to a nonsection victory against West Middlesex.

Penn Trafford 6, Kiski Area 0 – Emilie Oslosky had a goal and an assist for Penn-Trafford (3-1) in a nonsection win over Kiski Area (2-3). Eilish Connolly, Miley Currie, Alexis Brown, Jessica Gadagno and Olivia Weishaar also scored and Rease Colomon recorded the shutout.

Serra Catholic 8, Jeannette 0 – Lydia Reith scored five goals and Haley Genes recorded the shutout for Serra Catholic (2-0, 2-0) in a Section 1-1A defeat of Jeannette (0-1-1, 0-1-1).

Yough 8, McKeesport 0 – Katelyn Slavick netted four goals, Carli Reisinger added two and Brooke Wieland and Carly Fitzgibbons also scored for Yough (1-3) in a nonsection win.

Field hockey

Penn-Trafford 6 , Winchester Thurston 0 – Ava Hershberger scored five goals to lead Penn-Trafford to a nonsection win. Maura Spadone also scored, Mackenzie Keenan added two assists, and Maura Spadone and Rilie Moors also recorded assists.

Girls volleyball

Beaver 3, Mohawk 0 – Chloe List had 19 kills and nine digs, Kailyn Connelly had a season-high 12 kills, Zoe Ringer had 38 assists and Aubrey Bumblis had 22 digs and four aces as Beaver swept Mohawk in Section 1-2A.

Brownsville 3, McGuffey 1 – Skyler Gates had 18 kills and Mackenzie Wade added 17 assists and four aces to push Brownsville past McGuffey in Section 3-2A.

Burrell 3, Ligonier Valley 0 – Gia Hornack finished with 20 digs, Pyper Ferres added nine kills and four aces and Addy Rusek notched seven kills to pace Burrell in a Section 5-2A win. Lacy Sosko had nine kills and four blocks for Ligonier Valley.

California 3, Jefferson-Morgan 1 – Raegan Gillen and Nina Conte had six kills each, Rakiyah Porter registered seven digs and Azzy Colditz had 10 assists and eight aces to lead California in Section 2-A.

Derry 3, Valley 0 – Emily Berkhimer had seven kills and Alayna Williams added five kills to lead Derry to a Section 5-2A win. Katie Dunlap had 15 digs and Regan Repak handed out 22 assists for the Trojans.

Indiana 3, Franklin Regional 2 – Paige Fisanich had 11 kills and Stella Stossel and Taylor Wood added 10 kills each to lead Indiana to a Section 5-3A victory. Alexandra Ball had 20 digs and Hannah Cowburn recorded 37 assists.

Knoch 3, Mars 0 – Brynne Smith served for 11 points and had 28 assists, Karlee Buterbaugh had eight kills and 18 digs and Jess Farbacher added seven kills and 11 digs for Knoch in a sweep of Mars in Section 4-3A.

Mapletown 3, Carmichaels 2 – Bailey Rafferty had eight kills, 14 digs and 16 assists to lead Mapletown to a Section 2-A win. Isabella Garnek added seven kills and Brianna Ashton recorded 54 digs for the Maples.

North Allegheny 3, Shaler 0 – Kyra Schmidt had five kills and six digs and Marin Dunaway had four kills and two blocks to lead North Allegheny to a nonsection win. Avery Butcher had 12 digs and Mackenzie Jones dished out 15 assists.
