At Chartiers Houston High School on Thursday, the Chartiers-Houston Buccaneers defeated the Bentworth Bearcats in a Hometown Girls Volleyball match 3-0. All three games were close with scores of 26-24, 26-24, and 27-25.

Chartiers-Houston did not play well early in game one with unforced errors and bad defense. They trailed most of the game but down 16-10 found their game. They would tie it at 18-18, but the Bearcats would lead at 23-19. The Bucs would score 7 of the next 8 points to win 26-24. Neither team played well in a game full of mistakes and errors.

In game two, Chartiers-Houston led early and played well, but Bentworth caught up and tied it 10-10. The two teams would tie 6 more times  in the game. A turning point for the Bucs was when Senior Allie Lukan was serving down 6 at 19-13. She rattled off 6 straight points and it was tied 19-19. It went back and forth but the Bucs held on for another 26-24 win.

Game three was much like the first two, back and forth with both teams taking leads, then relinquishing them. A back and forth game saw 14 ties and the Bearcats lead most of the way,but again the Bucs would surge at the end to win. Both Macie Kesneck when down 19-14 to win 5 straight services while on the  serve line, and Kylie Levers coming up with huge points when they needed it led Chartiers Houston to another come from behind win at 27-25. Levers had 8 aces and 4 kills on the evening.

The Bucs are now 4-0 in the section, and 4-1 overall in the young season. Second year head coach Sean Cleary believes in using his whole roster with 6 seniors, 2 juniors and 7 sophomores in the rotation as he tries to rebuild and shape the team in his vision.
