In what head coach Jason Benkowski called their best match of the year, the Class A South Side Beaver Rams soundly defeated Class AA Central Valley 3-1 at home on Tuesday night.

Having won three of their last four matches, the Rams controlled things from the service line from the onset of this match. Alexis Dhayer and Cheyenne Seik served in dominant fashion to give South Side Beaver a decisive 25-19 victory in the first game of the match.

The Rams continued to be the better of the two teams when it came to both serving and passing in game two as well. Sarah Androlia and Amanda Fraser had stretches of serving brilliance, allowing the Rams to rush out to an early lead and, eventually, a 25-18 victory in game two.

Central Valley rallied from being behind early in game three to gain a 25-18 victory behind the dominant kills of senior middle-hitter Seairra Barrett. Barrett finished the night with 16 kills.

But, South Side would close out the match in the fourth game (25-21) behind the steady striking of Seik. Seik, only a junior, finished with a match-high 21 kills and was the go-to player offensively as senior setter Samantha Gibson continued to feed Seik time and again in the clinching 4th game. Androlia also chipped in with 8 kills for the Rams in the victory as well.

Central Valley's record drops to 5-2 (5-0 in section) and will take on New Brighton next Tuesday. With the win, South Side runs it's record to 5-4 (5-2 in section) and will face Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in a section showdown game next Tuesday.
