Local trio ready for Atlanta swim event

A trio of local girls will head to Atlanta from today through Sunday for the TYR Pro Swim Series at Georgia Tech. Leia Ross, a sophomore at Fox Chapel; Zoe Skirboll, an eighth-grader at Dorseyville Middle School; and Naomee Miller, a sophomore at Kiski Area High School compete for the Racer X Aquatics in Aspinwall, where they are coached by Jim Skirboll.
The event is a professional meet where amateur athletes, Olympic hopefuls, and professional Olympic athletes share the water. They swim long course meters.
Ross will be swimming the 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 backstroke. Zoe Skirboll is entered in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, and 200 individual medley events. Miller is entered in the 100 fly, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle, and 200 individual medley.
