Norwin senior Anthony Harding hinted after Wednesday's soccer practice that a scholarship offer could be coming soon from Penn State.
Two days later, he had not only landed the offer but also accepted it.
Harding, a standout forward who plays cup soccer for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the Elite Clubs National League, also had offers from Syracuse and St. Francis (Pa.).
He had 12 goals and 15 assists last season for the Knights, a perennial WPIAL playoff team.
Penn State was the offer Harding wanted.
“It's amazing,” he said. “It's been my dream (to play Division I soccer) since I've been able to play, and to play at Penn State is even better, one of the top programs in the country. I'm so excited.”
Penn State was 8-8-2 and lost to Michigan State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
