Dominance thy name was Penn-Trafford on the “pitch” Saturday afternoon as the Warriors downed the Gateway Gators 3-0 at a sun-soaked Penn-Trafford High School.

The score doesn’t even give a fair indication as to how Penn-Trafford (15-1) dominated the game, as the majority of the play took place on the Gateway side of the field.

While it was Senior Recognition Day at Warriors Stadium, all of the scoring game from PT juniors.

Austin Kreutzberger started the scoring at the 23:01 mark of the first half with a goal, then tallied another at 11:40. The second goal came off a perfect feed from senior Austin Mossellem.

Nick Tarabrella rounded out the scoring at the 29:04 mark of the second half, finding the back of the net after an initial PT shot was stopped by a Gateway defender.

The score could have been a bit more lopsided if it wasn’t for the staunch play of Gateway goalkeeper Sam Meshanko. The junior stymied a number of Penn-Trafford chances, including a brilliant diving save on a shot from close range from Joe Salesi.

Gateway fell to 11-6 with the loss.

Both teams will play in the WPIAL playoffs. Just how far can Penn-Trafford, which has won its last nine games, go? If you ask Kreutzberer, “All the way.”
