PIHL announces October players of the month

With 10 goals and six assists in four games last month, Norwin’s Alex Thomas surged to the top spot in the PIHL scoring leaders.

He’s developed a reputation as one of the most league’s most prolific scorers.

Thomas was selected as the PIHL Class 2A Player of the Month, joining three others as the top players in October: Zach Howard of Pine-Richand (3A), Jace Vasbinder of Quaker Valley (A) and Tanner Heidkamp of Carrick (Division 2).

Thomas, a senior forward who recently signed a tender with the Colorado Grit of the NAHL, has 13 goals and 10 assists overall in six games for the Knights (4-1-0-1).

Another senior forward, Howard has six goals and two assists to lead Pine-Richland (4-2-0-0). He had two game-winning goals last month.

Vasbinder, a forward on an all-sophomore top line, tallied 16 points (11 goals, 5 assists) over five games for the Quakers (6-0-0-0).

Heidkamp, a senior winger, delivered nine goals and five assists for Carrick (5-2-0-0).
