League scoring leader Ryan Saginaw of undefeated Bishop Canevin was among the four senior forwards selected as the PIHL’s players of the month for January.

Saginaw, who has 70 points on 46 goals and 24 assists, was the top pick for Division 2.

The other top players are Evan Benscoter of Central Catholic (Class 3A), Andrew Oliver of Thomas Jefferson (2A), and Jack Lorence of Richland (A).

Saginaw had 12 goals and 11 assists last month for Bishop Canevin (17-0-0-0), which has 138 goals. He has accounted for 10 points on the power play.

Benscoter, who has helped Central Catholic (9-8-0-0) stay in the 3A playoff chase, had five goals and an assist in January, giving him 10 goals and eight assists for the season.

Thomas Jefferson (16-2-0-0) is the first-place team in 2A thanks in large part to Oliver, who had seven goals and eight assists last month. He has 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points.

Lorence is the top point-getter for Richland (5-12-0-1) with 33 (16 goals, 17 assists). He found the net twice and added three helpers in January.
