Plum set to host inaugural senior all-star softball game

Many of the top senior softball players in the WPIAL will gather Tuesday evening for an all-star game at Plum High School.
The inaugural Western PA Softball All-Star Game between Team Gold and Team Black is set for 8 p.m., a change from the original 6 p.m. start time.
Players from throughout the WPIAL, many headed to Division I, II and III college programs, will take part in a celebration of the 2024 spring season.
Game officials said the contest is set for at least nine innings.
The spring high school season concluded Thursday and Friday at Penn State. Neshannock finished undefeated (27-0) with a 12-2, five-inning victory Friday over South Williamsport in the Class 2A title game.
Thomas Jefferson won the Class 5A state title Thursday with a 2-1 win in eight innings over Pittston from District 2.
Carmichaels finished as the state runner-up in Class A, and Elizabeth Forward did the same in Class 4A.
