Times, heights and distances recorded during regular-season track and field meets and invitationals again will be used as qualification to the WPIAL championships.

For each individual and relay event, a maximum of 24 in AAA and 16 in AA will punch tickets to the WPIAL meet, set for May 16 at Slippery Rock University. All ties will be eliminated, so an event could have less than the maximum number of permitted entries.

To qualify for the PIAA championships at Shippensburg University, an individual or relay can either finish in the top four for AAA and top five for AA at WPIALs or secure a finish in the top eight that also is better the state qualifying standard.

The WPIAL team semifinals are April 30 with the finals slated for May 6 at Peters Township High School.

The top two teams from each AAA and AA section will qualify for the team tournaments.

The AAA teams assigned to a AA section must win the section to qualify for the AAA team semifinals. The AA teams competing in a AAA section must finish in the top three to qualify for the AA team semifinals.
