South Hills CC’s Darin Kowalski wins Tri-State Amateur

Darin Kowalski shot a 4-under par 66 in the second round Thursday to capture the Tri-State PGA Amateur Championship at Hannastown Golf Club.

The South Hills Country Club member finished with a 4-under par 136. He carded 10 birdies during his two rounds.

Scott Jordan and David Fuhrer II tied for second at 2-over, Jack Urban was fourth at 3-over, and three players tied for fifth at 4-over.

Jimmy Myers, one of the three players tied for fifth, had eight birdies and an eagle.

Ravi Amina had the shot of the day, a hole-in-one on the second hole in the first round.

There were 68 players in the 36-hole event sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
