WPIAL Week 4 Friday Football Scores

Power outages throughout the South Hills of Pittsburgh from a storm on Wednesday forced the Hopewell-Mount Lebanon game to move to Baldwin High School. That game was one of several games pitting top teams from Class AAAA against elite teams from Class AAA on the fourth Friday of the high school football season. The 2010 WPIAL Individual Golf championships are next week for Boys Division II and in two weeks for Boys Division I and the Girls. The district is holding qualifiers this week to determine the participants. The top five boys golfers at each site plus those who come within 10 strokes of the course rating advance to the WPIAL Semifinals.

Altoona Curve Win First Ever Eastern League Championship
September 19, 2010
The Altoona Curve clinched its first Eastern League Championship in its 12-year existence with a, 5-2, win over the Trenton Thunder on Saturday night at Waterfront Park. Tony Watson (2-0) notched the win while Jim Negrych went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
