Finally, after six weeks of above normal temperatures on Friday night, there was a bite in the air as we kicked off the MSA Sports Stretch Run. Big games in all four classifications dotted the schedule and MASSIVE performances on the ground and through the air left little doubt that prime time playoff football is just around the corner. Two new champions were crowned Thursday at the 2010 WPIAL Boys Team Golf Division I and Division II Championships at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon.

District College Football Preview for Saturday, October 16th

Seperation Week comes to the area college football teams this weekend as battles form for the conference titles and contenders are separated from pretenders. Two good matchups highlight the PSAC slate as Slippery Rock tries to state it's case for a West Division crown, but they will have to beat number four California, and Edinboro hosts Mercyhurst in another all Erie County matchup.

Fox Chapel and Central Valley Win First Ever WPIAL Girls Team Golf D-I and D-II Titles

It was a historic day for WPIAL girl's golf Thursday at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon. On the first year the district crowned two champions instead of one, Fox Chapel won gold for the first time in school history led by the first family of girl's golf, Nadia and Katerina Luttner.

The MSA Sports Network lost one of our own Monday morning with the passing of Don Vandergrift. Vandergrift was the voice of the North Allegheny Tigers and was part of both the Nauticom Sports Network and the MSA Sports Network since day one with his work with the North Allegheny Sports Network.

North Allegheny and South Park Duo’s Win 2010 WPIAL Girls Tennis Doubles Titles

One champion was expected, coming into the district doubles postseason as the top-seed. The other dynamic duo surprised the field, winning gold as the 11th-seed. Friday afternoon at Pine-Richland High School, the South Park tandem of Elise Carter and Tracy Gibson cruised to the WPIAL Class AA doubles tennis title.
