It was rare air in the 2009 District 8 football finals as Pittsburgh City League powers Perry and Brashear were spectators for a game they were often participants in. The number of WPIAL playoff spots available is shrinking fast after Friday nights high school football action. There are only four WPIAL games on Saturday, all of which have some sort of playoff implication. Here are ALL of the final scores from the four contests in District 7 and the two games from the Pittsburgh City League. After a busy first Saturday last week, the area high school football action was a bit calmer on the final day of Week Two of the 2010 season. There were only three games in both the WPIAL and the Pittsburgh City League with five of those games played in the afternoon. Over the past five seasons, four different teams have won Pittsburgh City League championships (Brashear won twice). Look for the balance of power to continue this season. It doesn't seem like there is a prohibitive favorite to win the City League this year. Schenley captured the title a year ago.
