2011 WPIAL FIELD HOCKEY PLAYOFFS
October 25, 2011
Three of the four finalists this year have DOMINATED the district field hockey playing field since the sports inception in 1994. Between 2010 champions North Allegheny in AAA, Ellis School in AA and Shady Side Academy, the three programs have won 25 of a possible 31 WPIAL field hockey titles. The other finalist, Penn-Trafford is the new kid on the golden block.

2011 WPIAL Girls Team Tennis Playoffs Update

Dancing through the rain drops, the WPIAL Girls Team Tennis Playoffs are through the First Round in Class AA and is through the Quarterfinals in Class AAA. Here are the results from Thursday plaus the matchups for the Semifinals in AAA and the Quarterfinals in AA as Shady Side Academy and Quaker Valley continue their quest of serving up a repeat of their golden crowns from a year ago.

Scholastic Notebook – 10/29/2010

When it comes to records, maybe its time to stop thinking about Rushel Shell in a WPIAL sense. Maybe its time to look at the entire state. Shell, Hopewells wonderful junior running back, ran for 193 yards against West Allegheny in a 34-31 overtime win last night. That gave him 6,358 yards for his career.

2010 WPIAL Field Hockey Playoffs

One of the shortest playoff tournaments hosted by the WPIAL is set for the finals following Semifinals Wednesday in the 2010 WPIAL Girls Field Hockey Playoffs. Here are the four Final Four results from both the Class AAA and Class AA tournaments, plus the Championship matchups schedule for Monday, November 1st at Fox Chapel High School.
